Our Vision, Values and Aims

Our Vision

Our vision is one of excellence through virtue: in doing the best, giving the best and being the best. Excellence understood as virtue (CCC 1804) meaning the habitual and firm disposition to do the good (CCC 1833) that allows a person not only to perform good acts but to give the best of themselves. So that our school, rooted and bound together in the Catholic faith, is the best school to best serve our community through including, involving, challenging and supporting all to be their best selves to deliver the best outcomes for all our young people. This vision is a response to the call of Christ to follow him, recognised in our school motto ‘Venite Post Me’ or ‘Come, Follow Me’ (Matthew 19:21, Mark 10:21, Luke 18:22, John 21:22). A call to follow his teaching to be who God made us to be and who he wants us to be, which is to be our best selves, by giving our best and doing our best in loving God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind, and with all our strength (Mark 12:30).

Our Values

Our vision is driven and guided by Catholic values and virtue as taught by Christ, revealed through the Gospels and the teaching of the Catholic Church. Though all are important, we give prominence to:

  • Truth (CCC 2466; Psalm 86:11; John 8:32)
  • Faith (CCC 143; Romans 1:5; Romans 16:26; Luke 1:45)
  • Hope (CCC 1817; Hebrews 10:23; Matthew 10:22)
  • Courage (CCC 1808; Wisdom 8:7; 1 Corinthians 16:13; Matthew 14:27)
  • Solidarity (CCC 1939; 1 Peter 4:9-10; John 1:29)
  • Love (CCC 1766; 1 John 4:7-8; 1 Corinthians 13:13; Matthew 22:36-39; John 13:34)

Such, that we are: ‘pursuing truth in faith with hope and courage, together in solidarity through love’.
