Unit 3 – Chemistry in Society

Also includes several Practical Reports and a Research Assignment.

In S3 you will complete:

Atomic structure

Bonding

Acids and alkalis

Calculations

Practical Write-up

Research Assignment

• Accounts for 20% of final mark
• Can also be used as AVU (added value unit) for N4 course–S3 Exam in May

In S4 you will complete:  

• Unit 2 : Combustion/Fossil Fuels

Alkanes/Homologous Series

Alcohols/Acids

Esters

Consumer Products

• Unit 3: –Metals/Making Electricity

Plastics

Fertilisers

Nuclear Chemistry

Chemical Analysis

If time is available try and revisit assignments to improve if necessary.
