You have 2 options: 

• National 5 Biology
• Higher Human Biology (if you have previously passed N5 in biology or another science).

Higher Human Biology contains 3 units: It presents DNA, cells and human body systems, making it an ideal choice for those interested in, for example, healthcare-based careers.

The S5 options are open to you but with the addition of Advanced Higher Biology (if you have passed Higher). 

This has 3 units: It gives you a deeper understanding of those aspects of biology which prepare you for the study of this subject beyond school level. 

You will carry out an independent investigation into a topic of interest, in addition to developing knowledge of investigative techniques, proteins, the cell cycle, evolution and behaviour.
