Sports Leadership

(Level 5 or 6)     

• S6 only.
• Develop your organisation, motivation and communication skills, whilst also focusing on positive role models in sport, how to mentor others, and how to use leadership skills in a variety of settings.
• The course consists of six to eight units of work including 10/30 hours demonstration of leadership.
• Mostly taught in a practical setting with the occasional lesson requiring ICT facilities.

Assessment

• The Level 5 Award in Sports Leadership will take approximately 48 guided learning hours to deliver.
• This includes 10 hours during which learners will demonstrate their leadership.
• Level 6 requiring 30 hours demonstrating leadership, both in and out of school.
• The course is internally assessed and verified throughout the year – no final exam.
• Pupils will complete a Learner Evidence Record (LER) workbook and compile a small portfolio of their work including any lesson plans they have produced.
