Volunteering Award
Ambition, Confidence, Happiness and Respect.
The SQA Volunteering Award gives pupils a chance to receive recognition for their volunteering activities in school and in the community. By volunteering pupils are able to develop their skills and qualities and have new experiences. This course will teach our pupils to be independent, responsible, resourceful and will help them to build their self-confidence. This is a nationally recognised award at level 5.
As part of the Volunteering Award, pupils will need to:
- learn about the context of volunteering
- plan a volunteering placement
- review and reflect on their own skills and experiences
- complete an investigative project
There is a minimum requirement of completing 20 hours of volunteering for this award. Pupils will use the column they have chosen this subject to complete their volunteering and coursework independently, so it requires pupils to be dedicated to their studies.
Pupils who complete this award will also be put forward for the Saltire Award.
